Meet our leadership team

Richard Montgomery — Chairman of the Board

Since Americare’s inception in 1981, Richard has maintained a strategy of innovation and controlled growth. Today, Americare provides healthcare and wellness services, focused on independent, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, behavioral health and pharmacy. Americare employs more than 4,000 eldercare professionals in five states. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Mr. Montgomery has been honored by numerous professional organizations.

Michael Hammond — President and Chief Operating Officer

Michael started his career as a Certified Nurse Assistant in 1999. Americare gave him the opportunity to grow his career here, an investment that has paid off many times over. After more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry, Michael accepted the President and COO position, and today leads his team with a people-centric approach. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University and an MBA from Lindenwood University.

Sarah Mazzocco

Sarah Mazzocco — Chief People Officer

Sarah joined Americare as its first Chief People Officer in 2023. She brings with her more than 20 years of leadership experience in the Fortune 50, multi-state regional companies, universities and non-profit organizations. With a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri, several certifications and service as an experienced board member, Ms. Mazzocco leads the full suite of enterprise-wide people functions.

Terri Mundy

Terri Mundy — Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Terri joined Americare as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2025. She has more than 25 years of sales and marketing leadership experience, including 15 years in senior living. Throughout her career, Terri has demonstrated a strong commitment to customer care and innovation and led high-performing teams. Based in Missouri, she believes effective sales leadership requires being present in the field—connecting directly with teams, communities, residents and families.

Jason Baxter — Senior Vice President of Information Technology

Jason joined Americare in 2015 to lead our IT Team. Prior to his arrival at Americare, he acquired extensive IT experience in healthcare, gaming, automotive, financial services/insurance and local government. He also spent several years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Baxter holds a BA in Computer Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University.

Will Montgomery — Senior Vice President of Development

Will assumed the role of Vice President of Development at Americare in 2018. Holding a BA in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Missouri, he gained experience as a commercial credit analyst at Montgomery Bank, underwriting commercial lending. In 2007, he established WillCo Construction, a specialized general contracting firm dedicated to crafting senior living communities. Today, Will is actively contributing to the evolution of Americare as part of the family’s next generation of ownership.

Mike Landewee — Senior Vice President, Controller

Mike joined Americare in 1987 and serves as Lead Controller and Financial Analyst for the company. He manages the accounting department and serves as counsel to the executive leadership team and ownership as they chart a course for ongoing growth. Mr. Landewee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Southeast Missouri State University.

Mary Eaves — Senior Vice President of Operations, Assisted Living

Mary joined Americare in 1997 as an eldercare advisor. Her Americare career path includes Licensed Administrator, Regional Operations Director for the assisted living division, and her current role as Divisional Vice President. In every role Mary was the lead on key company-wide initiatives, whole-person wellness and our signature Hometown Hospitality™ customer service program.

Kyle Schade — Vice President of Finance

Kyle joined Americare in 2021 as Vice President of Finance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Mr. Schade began his career at a regional accounting firm and brings 11 years of public accounting experience to Americare.

Jim Dunham — Senior Vice President of Pharmacy

Jim has served as Chief Operating Officer from the start of Americare Pharmacy Services in 2005. Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. Jim has over 35 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy services, and he has held management positions with PharMerica-Maryland, NeighborCare-Oklahoma and Vitalink Pharmacy Services-Maryland.
